I'm kind of interested in this idea because often people end up getting together with someone who has qualities they admire who is their opposite. Later they realize that they are motivated and want totally different things.

I'd like to distill down what is the essence of each type, even for myself to better understand what I have to offer and have to get from a friendship/relationship with another type.

    INTP: I want to understand.
    That about sums it up.

It's kind of tough for INFP... "To become?" or "To fully be oneself?"

I almost feel like it should be the Feeling form of INTP's "To understand." We want to understand and understand deeply, but on the level of values and people rather than logic and information. Of course, there could be some enneagram influence in there.
