    Makes sense in a materialistic society. Openness to experience would be appreciated in a culture that isn't as fixated to material security.

    Yes but this openness in MBTI terms could be easily verified in both ENFPs and ESFPs, while Se only in the ESFP. So I'd say it is slightly different.
