    I never lectured anyone.

Maybe you're projecting your own ideas of what it is that I'm doing here by calling it anecdotal. Yes, it is speculation. Who said speculation never leads anywhere?. Why are you on a forum if not to speculate and to debate and to theorize? This is a psychology forum. Anyway, you are not obliged to partake or to pay attention to what I have to say. I created this thread for the speculation. Anecdotal for you, but maybe someone got something out of it. I know I did.

I'm just saying you *might* have a valid theory about truly ugly people not developing charisma, but I can't agree with you on that without evidence. So, yes, it's anecdotal based up on what you've personally seen and experienced rather than what may or may not be true for people in general.

I don't like talking to you, because it's rarely productive. I will stop.

    Have a nice day.

Larry, Moe, and Curly pulled mad honeys and had plenty of charisma. Two were funny, one was an asshole. Go figure

Yeah, actually some friends and I were discussing David Crosby last night (from Crosby, Stills, and Nash) and they were saying, wow that guy had a very full romantic life, and he wasn't very good looking. I said, yeah I guess guys can do that if they're famous but average looking musicians...and they looked at me (both dudes) and were like, um, no...David Crosby was below average looking, and most guys wouldn't even want him as their wing man in a bar. Melissa Etheridge and her lesbian partner even had Crosby father their child.

Funny you mention that. Some guys invite me out to be a wingman (even though I'm the most quiet guy for a bar anyways.. I swear, I play this ISTP act half of the time.. kind of..).. I'm here to say they'd be so much better off if they found Curly (or Moe for that matter).

I don't even know what a wing man is. I just assumed it was your buddy you brought to the bar with you so you weren't just hanging out alone, looking creepy.

Usually when a girl goes to the bar, she brings a friend along. A guy will choose a girl he wants to go after, and the wingman is the guy who keeps that girl's friend occupied.

    That's a wingman.

Actually here's a better definition from urbandictionary:

A Wingman is a buddy that takes care of the ugly fat friend who is always standing two feet next to the hot chick you want to get with. The Wingman is also responsible for going along with any lies you may tell during the evening. If you say you are from Italy and are just visiting for the weekend your Wingman is forced to back up that story and any other lies you tell the hot chick.

Oh. I see. Lame. I didn't need to know that.

I think a guy I dated when I was 19/20 had a "wingman." My roommate at the time used to refer to the wingman as The Odious Young Man. It seems he frequently went wherever the guy I dated went, and would hit on anything with a vagina. I remember him being all over my roommate and her about beating him to death. God that guy was a douche, but I guess he was the perfect wingman because he'd certainly do whatever he could to keep the other female present...entertained. Or annoyed. Whatever.
