This is a large part of my reason for reading the thread.

These signs are not always as obvious, but the forum is peppered with such clues that one can use to see what groups exist, both large and small. Some people keep them more secret; others make their affiliations clear.

There's not just one group either, there are layers upon layers of groups, sub-groups, fringe-groups, wanna-be in the groupies etc.

I'm not passing judgement on that; it just is.
That's totally true, PB. The TAFMWYTA thread is one tool people can use to demonstrate their familiarity with others, strengthening their recognition as an in-group member, although it does happen in nearly every other thread to some degree. That's human nature--to form groups and get to the top.

Extra hugs for you and Rainbows. (Rainbows is self-proclaimed super-creepy, which exempts her from plain old creepy).

I do agree it's very interesting detective work.

However, just because I point it out does not mean I feel excluded specifically, or that I think there is a giant conspiracy afoot.

    It just is.

I guess I would have thought there would be less of it online in a forum environment? Or it would be less noticeable?

Edit: It's almost more obvious, like people go out of their way to be affiliated with who they desire to be.

It is not good for my paranoia so I try not to read the thread. Not that I would really expect that I'm having a significant enough appearence in this forums to be addressed there, but the chances are there ^^
