Default Any Maritimers Here Ever Been To the Celtic Colours?

I'm thinking about going in October. Any tips on more reasonable accommodation, what concerts are most worth it, etc would be most welcome. I knows there's a few of yas out there!

Well, I'm from Québec, but I'm going this year!
I have purchased tickets for "Across an Ocean and a Sea" featuring Gaelic singers from different countries, including Mary Jane Lamond and Maire Brennan. I'm only going to that one concert because we are going as a group (four relatives) and tickets are around 20$ each. But it should be worth it, those are great female singers.

Vishten will also perform, and they are good Acadian musicians. You might want to look into that.

What kind of Celtic music do you like? Meditative or dance-oriented?

A Doers and Dreamers 2010 Travel guide would be the best tool to find reasonable accomodation in the area, I guess. It is available for free, you can order it through the website and they ship it to you:

Oh, I've read up on all the stuff going on and several people I know are performing. If a westjet sale comes up in time, I'll be there! We should hang out. Most of my CB friends are big drinkers, so I'd like to find someone who wants to enjoy music and go to stuff, but isn't getting wasted every night! I like a pretty big variety of stuff.

I will only be in Cape Breton on Monday night (October 11th) for the concert and on the 12th. We will be on our way to the Peggy's Cove area for Tuesday night. That would leave very little time for hanging out...

    It's true, you play violin...
    Do you play Celtic music?

Too bad! Yeah, I play some Celtic. I like singing it even more though.

I play whistles and a bit of mouthblown smallpipes myself. Piano as well (my first instrument). Celtic music has shaped my tastes and style a lot. I fell in love with it when I was 14.
Who are the musicians you know that will perform at the Colours?
