Oooh great idea for a thread. I always notice little sounds that I like as I'm going about my day, but I can't seem to remember any right now. I'll try to make note of it and then come back and post.

OMG I LOVE THIS THREAD IDEA!!!!!

My favorite sound in the whole world is the sound of halyards clanging against the masts of sailboats in a marina. I know nothing about sailing and have never been in my life, but I like marinas and I really love that sound.

    Other sounds I like:
    Clarinet
    Killer drum beats
My dog's little noises that he makes when he's dreaming
    Thunderstorms
    Acoustic guitar
The first birds chirping in the spring
The clanging together of mugs, silverwear, swords, etc hung from belts on people at Ren Fest
Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting.

    Hey, I play the clarinet!

    Hmmm...

    Clarinet
    Piano
    Violin
    Cello
    Ella Fitzgerald's voice
Soft voices, which speak of intelligence
    Raging thunderstorms
    Rain
    Rivers
    Wood crackling in fire
    Something sizzlin' in a wok
Wind in trees, or just wind
Snow falling (which isn't really a sound haha)

I am sure there are more...I just can't think of them.

I also love the 'ding....ding....ding' you always hear when you are watching movies involving ships!!!

And just general noises of frogs and crickets and those folk chirping/croaking in the night.

    And wind through tall grass.
Excuse me, but does this smell like chloroform to you?

Oooh, cello, yes! I love cello too. SecondBest, are you a cellist?

Ironically, I'm a flautist but I didn't list flute. I like playing it more than listening to it, ha!

I wish I were a cellist. I tried it for three years when I was younger, but eh, bad teachers, money, eventual disinterest, et al, made me stop.

Sexiest instrument to play though... ever.

Ah, flute! I love listening to jazz flute than I do classical, but yeah, very ethereal instrument. I'm a fan.

    Bird twitter at 4am.
    Silence.
    Someone's breath (someone I like).
    Big waves hitting rocks.
    Error-free, fast typing on keyboards.
    Ambient music.
The pop when you open a new can of something.
    Pitter patter.
    Babies laughter.
My grandmother snoring (cause then I know she's still alive!)
    Heavy rain.
    Falling trees.
    Domino bricks falling.
