    Default Explain your username

    For instructions, refer to title.

As for me, why am I SecondBest?

I'll be honest, I only started this thread to clear up a few things about that name. I'm interested to hear how other people came up with their usernames, but I'm really starting this for my own selfish reasons. So in case any of you give a shit, let me explain.

The username isn't the invite to the pity party you might think it is. It actually sums up who I am pretty nicely. Coming in second place, you have most, if not all, of the confidence you'd get for coming in first place, without any of the attention or ego. The difference is only one place, but it's significant to me. That's kind of what's always happened to me and though when I was younger I didn't like it, I'm now more appreciative of my place in life.

Otherwise I'd be an intolerable prick. Or, at least, even more of one.

    Bending light..

    Its about shifting perspective.

To merge the past present and future , you need to warp space and time.
You can't transverse the distance.. so you bring the two or more points in time together by bending light..

All of this is metaphorical for dealing with your emotions and their baggage.

You bring the past and present together to shape the future.

Interesting approach at being a "second best". It is different from mine, though.

As for my username, Donna is the Italian word for "Ms." and Cecilia is my real, (also Italian) name.

    Nothing philosophical or anime-related.

There can’t be any large-scale revolution until there’s a personal revolution, on an individual level. It’s got to happen inside first.

Kat is short for my first name and I don't exactly remember how I came to the Saint part. Probably because I needed a title or because of the image I seem to have inside the Dutch part of my family (they seem to think I'm an angel, but they just don't know me). Maybe I chose "Saint" as a title, because I'm actually a bit twisted and I lack clear morals. Or maybe because I'm from an atheist family. I don't remember. April 2009 is a long time ago.
I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower. The TV was obviously on. I used to fly myself and I said, "There's one terrible pilot."

    Haha... funny thread.

I chose mine because I like Wallace and Gromit, in general, and the dog Gromit, in particular. It is also my name from a previous forum.

    it is my name backwards
"...Have you fallen in love with the wrong person yet?"
Jace said, "Unfortunately, Lady of the Haven, my one true love remains myself."
"At least," she said, "you don't have to worry about rejection, Jace Wayland"
"Not necessarily. I turn myself down occasionally, just to keep it interesting"

In case it isnt painfully obvious, it's "just her"

It always amazes me when people can't tell my gender on the internets because its right there.. HER.
