    Coincidentally, all my friends joke about me basically being a girl.

    There have already been at least two threads on this topic:

    What is the meaning of your username?

    Explain your usernamel

    My post on the earlier of these:

    My username is from the coriolis force, an inertial force used to account for the apparent deflection of the path of an object moving in a rotating reference frame. (See Wikipedia for a reasonable explanation and some illustrative graphics.) I wanted a username that was straightforward, one word, unlikely to be confused with others, and descriptive or relevant in an indirect way. The idea of the coriolis force makes me think of how significant a "simple" change of reference frame, or perspective, can be. I relate to it thus as a physicist, and a Ni-dom, since to me, Ni is all about perspective: seeing what everyone else sees, but in a different way.
    I've been called a criminal, a terrorist, and a threat to the known universe. But everything you were told is a lie. The truth is, they've taken our freedom, our home, and our future. The time has come for all humanity to take a stand...

    @Coriolis, sorry :/

    Thanks for giving your explanation here anyway.
    You hem me in -- behind and before;
    you have laid your hand upon me.
    Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
    too lofty for me to attain.

    No, I haven't even read Spiderman, and the movies were just okay. But I like spiders. It was a quick choice.

    don't worry about it. the search function here is basically useless.

    mine was erinavery when i joined...cuz that's my first and middle name and i wasn't a forum person and had no idea what to have my name be and didn't even intend on staying. i just had questions! haha

    but a friend and i were joking around and through some conversations we had he called me lady x...not going to go into the conversations but i was laughing so hard and just thought it would be funny to change my name to that. it was just a silly sort of joke between us.

    Chosen because at the time, I was a fan of the Java programming language, and I just intended to observe with minimal interaction.
