    In no particular order:

    • Jared Diamond
    • Steven Pinker
    • Adam Savage
    • Kari Byron
    • Meriwether Lewis
    • Arya Stark (fictional - George RR Martin's Ice and Fire)
    • Hiro Protagonist (fictional - Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash)
    • Tyrion Lannister (fictional - George RR Martin's Ice and Fire)
    • Nirgal (fictional - Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars Trilogy)
    • FitzChivalry Farseer (fictional - Robin Hobb's Assassin books)

Hmm -- not all of those people would be good together, so the party would probably break up. But that's *my* list... would happy to get into a conversation with any of them .

Considering the type of 'dinner parties' I like, it only makes sense to invite dead people:

Bruce Lee, Einstein, Gilles de Rais, Hitler, Leonardo di Vinci, Malcom X, Voltaire and Z. Beksinski.

Father Time and the Man on the Moon.
Is it that by its indefiniteness it shadows forth the heartless voids and immensities of the universe, and thus stabs us from behind with the thought of annihilation, when beholding the white depths of the milky way?

    Oh man---good question!

There's so many.....It's hard to narrow it down.

I guess the top of my list would be:

    Real

    Andrei Tarkovsky
    Stanley Kubrick
    David Lynch
    Pablo Picasso
    Henry Miller
    Anais Nin
    Carl Jung
    Camille Paglia
    Friedrich Nietzsche
    Jim Morrison
    Bob Dylan
    Roger Waters
    Syd Barrett
    Elizabeth Taylor
    James Dean
    Vincent Gallo
    Fyodor Dostoevsky
    Lao Tzu

I'd consider Ayn Rand and John Lydon, but I doubt they'd be very pleasant guests at a dinner party.

    Fictional

    Willy Wonka (of course )
Alex from A Clockwork Orange (though it would be a little scary)
Vincent Gallo's character in Buffalo '66 (though it would also be a little scary)

    What?

    That sounds creepy!

But yeah, definitely interesting guest list.

I'd definitely like to pick Beksinski's brain a little.

It would be a theme night dinner.

Gwen Ifill would be seated at one end of the table presiding as judge and jury, where she would be responsible for scoring the participants in this no hold barred (no physical attacks) brawl. No subject is taboo. Alcohol would be flowing freely.

    Portside would be:
    • Obama
    • Rand Paul
    • Cheney
    • Palin (comedic element)

    Starboard would be:
    • Anderson Cooper
    • Bill Maher
    • Dennis Miller
    • Milton Friedman

    Go!
