Avery Brown: Because it's boring and dishonest and uncomfortable, like wearing a pair of shoes all day that pinch your feet.

    2.

    1) I have difficulties with adding and substracting.
    2) I have difficulties reaching the ground with my hands when I'm on my feet.
    3) I have difficulties understanding some mainstraim humor, such as Mr. Bean.

No. It's #1. Quite embarassing, as I'm a math teacher. I can do integrals without blinking an eye, but add two whole numbers?
I strongly suspect my mother language plays a role in this. In Dutch, you say the unit digits before the tensome digits. So 123 reads not as "one hundred and twenty-three" but as "one hundred three-and-twenty". During my school years, there were more occasions than I can count where I made the exercises on page 95 instead of the ones on page 59. There was a fifty-fifty percent chance of exchanging the digits, so I couldn't correct myself by just reading backwards.
