Maybe it's just me, or you guys are too literal.

Are most of you defining the image and matching the word?
I define the words and then match the image.

To me I let my mind wander where the words take me.

Kiki makes me think of an ex ISFP from years ago who's online name was Kikitwisty .. so I am reminded of a very warm and fun person.Something you feel safe falling into.

Bouba becomes Bubba.. and Bubba is that big assed mean redneck or black cell mate featured in way too many man rape jokes. SO it becomes threatening and something you don't want to fall into because it will stab and hurt you.

Then I look at the images and name them appropriately.

    P.S. I am not crazy!

I'm not quite sure what you mean...
I do get images in my head from the words...Bouba brings images of this Bumba or whatever his name was from the Lion King (No, I'm not into Disney movies, but I watched them as a kid), and of some fat blue 3d alien cyclop monster thingy that's supposed to be a funny guy but he scares people and he looks really boring and Disney-ish. Kiki brings images of some uptight japanese guy, and of some little girl that likes dancing.

Edit: Ahh, now I get what you mean. You think of Bouba as the sharp one.

    Teh annoying/boring.

Haha. Interesting. The test was originally conducted to find links in people and synesthesia (basically a linking of the senses). It seems here that your Ne overrides your senses. I wonder if there's a link between intuitives and picking the answer not relating to how the word sounds.

I "bouba" reminds me of "Bubba" also, but I think of it differently. Bubba sounds like a fat guy who doesn't get a lot of exercise, hence the blob. To add to the fact, 'b' sounds much softer than 'k.' But as for "kiki," I don't think of the word meaning, but 'k' has a very sharp sound to it.

This experiment, I think alludes to the fact that we have a genetic predilection for language, we see symbols and they mean something to us.

kiki, sounds sharp, and the object on the left is sharp edged.

bouba sounds open, fluid, big, and round and that is the right object.

Think about all the different languages in the world and the words for mom and dad

m sound for mom and d or p sound for dad, almost universally.

That gets deeper into biolinguistics, though.

    Also b sounds for fathers.

    when you're a child.

This is true for Korean, English, Spanish, Japanese, Hebrew and lord knows how many others.

Yeah, I suppose if English isn't your first language, you could think otherwise depending on what language is your native one.
