    Exclamation Announcement!

    NEVER buy toys by K'nex for your children, for nieces or nephews, for grandchildren, or any child in general. My little brother bought a K'nex roller coaster track with some money he had been saving. Well, we built it with him without counting all of the pieces (I don't know who would do that anyway). And lo and behold, a large portion of the pieces were missing that were necessary of the completion of the track.

    Now, you'd think that their customer service would be more than happy to give you the pieces were missing... but NO. Instead, you get a crabby customer service person who will refuse to give you any more pieces until you list the exact number and type of missing pieces. :steam:

    I used to play a little with K'nex tracks when I was littler, and I really don't remember having many issues with it, but I should have done a little research online. A quick Google search reveals that MANY people have complained of missing pieces included with K'nex sets. Most of them went out and bought these pieces on their own. My guess is that the customer service people scared them off.

    In short, stick to Legos.

    /end of ranting announcement... or anouncementy rant?

    I understand if this topic gets moved.

    Why couldn't you tell them the wrong missing parts?

    On their side of it: are they supposed to hand out free stuff any time somebody calls them claiming they are missing parts? If they did it for you they'd have to do it for everybody, and if they did it for everybody they'd be out of business.

    I don't doubt you are missing your pieces, but ya gotta go through the motions to get it solved. Maybe I'm biased because I work customer service, but it pisses me off that most big companies (walmart, etc) do their no-questions no-receipt returns because they can afford to be taken advantage of by customers. Smaller companies do not have this luxury.

    Did you buy these direct/online? Or through a store? Most return departments of big chains are lazy and will sometimes straight up tape up and put returned crap back on the shelf. I bought some computer speakers from Wal-Mart once and I had realized after the fact that it had been re-packaged ('sealed' plastic bags for the cords were all open, tape from the factory was taped over with a different width tape). I took them home, and surprise surprise, the left speakers didn't work. I returned them for an exchange, and I've always wondered if they just didn't re-box it and toss it back out there.
    ...Then I ducked my head and the lights went out, and two guns blazed in the dark;
    And a woman screamed, and the lights went up, and two men lay stiff and stark...

    Well, I hadn't counted the pieces yet. But I counted them after, called back, told them what was missing, and they started shipping the parts out or something like that.

    Yes, we bought it at a department store instead of online. The box didn't look like it had been opened before, but you never know.
