I wish I lived by a lake or by the sea. Then I could go swimming whenever I wanted (except if there were sharks or piranhas is that lake or sea, of course).
I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower. The TV was obviously on. I used to fly myself and I said, "There's one terrible pilot."

Are we talking 'element' in the molecular sense? Because water fails in that category... no offense to your thread.

Here are my rankings of water (in terms of swimming, not drinking)
    ocean
    rivers
    lakes
    swimming pool
    bath tub

I love to drink water and float peacefully in water and sit in the pool splashing water at the man (and getting splashed back) and splashing through the puddles.

Fire is my element personalitywise in every single test, and astrologically speaking... I love the way that it crackles and throws off sparks into the air above it as it burns

I love the smell of freshly turned dirt and I love the way that mud squelches between my toes

And there are few things as exhilerating and refreshing as having the wind blow through my hair!

    )there... I covered them all!)

Great thread. I just love how everybody is relating all these natural wonders to their lives, and how they make us feel. And even giving human characteristics to the elements. Awesome.

Like realizing that the most basic things affect us the most, and the deepest. And largely, these are things that are beyond our control, or can be in certain circumstances.

Elements of nature that can heal us or hurt us, every one of them, and maybe therein lies the appeal.
