Yeah, I like hats, at least I like the way they look on my head. I only really started wearing them in the last few years. Mainly baker boy caps in a variety of colours/patterns. They seem to be practically the only hat that looks good on every woman regardless of facial shape, height, etc etc. I also like fedoras/trilbies but unfortunately I have yet to find one that doesn't look silly on me.

As far as "at least I like the way they look on my head", the problem is that they wreak utter havoc on my hair. I have very fine hair which tends to become greasy quickly and so my hat hair is pretty disastrous. It gets flattened down and greasy and ridiculous looking.

So basically - I usually only wear hats in the winter, and if I put one on my head, I try not to take it off all day. So, I have to think about whether I'm likely to find myself in a situation where wearing a hat all day would be really silly or inappropriate...

    I love ladies in hats.

Here, in Melbourne, we have the Spring Racing Carnival.

    Mmmmm... hat fix.

I love hats. Check my avatar. I have several of my own, but I'm so anxious about them messing up my hair, I don't often wear them. I do have a 1920s cloche, though. I'll have to get a pic of me wearing it one of these days.

Halla, if you like those hats from Melbourne you would really dig Ladies' Day at the Ascot races here in England... Ascot was just a couple of weeks ago and I saw a bit of it, and there were beautiful hats, totally insane hats, and hats which were both

Unfortunately I don't have time to dig up any pics right now but if you google "Ascot" and "hats" you will surely find some

The "gaucho hat" is fashion in Australia?

That´s great, since if you wear one here in the city, you´ll get weird looks. Because of the prejudices about rural people.

Yes. Sad but true. I love them too.

But, they are a hot sale with tourists. The "gaucho" is a cultural icon here. Stores with handcrafts made by rural craftsmen are the most popular.

Everyone, except (most of) this city´s inhabitants seem to appreciate it.
