    Yes, that is very similar to what I have. It is the superior winter hat. So what is it called?

    Wide brims are best.
    Do you prefer the brim folded downward, upward, or half and half?

    Green = Special Forces
    Tan = Ranger
    Red = Airborne Unit
    Black = Regular Army
    Maybe if you are a guy wearing it.

    When I was in the US, guys loved it, because (as one I dated in Boston explained me) the fact that I combine the beret with my black-knee lenght overcoat (with a nice dress under it) and black stilettos; ticks the "sexy french lady" image in their brains.

    Fun thing, since I don´t speak a word of French. Yet.

    ^ Yes, the "Fidel Castro cap" (like it is called here) looks great on guys. And I love it.

    But, it looks ridiculous on most women.

    I know that wasn't meant for me, but wide brims don't look right on some folks (same with brim shape). I do like my hats with the brim turned down, at least in the front. Cowboy hats are still a common sight where I grew up. You start getting into the 3"+ brim width and it just looks weird on me.
    Used to rock one of these. I reshaped the brim to curve up a bit on the sides like a regular cowboy hat and take some of the width off visually. Still looked a little large on me.
