I am fairly picky eater and have preferred types of food. From the selections in this poll, what are your favorites?

I don't like restaurant chains. For me, half of the charm of a restaurant comes from its individuality.

    1) French. Best cuisine in the world. It doesn't have to be expensive. You can eat really well in a good French Brasserie for real cheap. Of course, nothing beats the finer French restaurants.

    2) Chinese. Second best IMO. I love Dim-Sum, chinese duck, hazelnut chicken, etc.

    3) Italian... and I don't mean just pizza or pasta.

I already voted: French, Italian and Chinese.

To be fair, British cuisine has come an awful long way. Although there are many old and middle-aged people who still subsist on boiled-to-death cabbage and bland, dry pork chops with boiled potatoes and overly salted gravy... the younger generations are much more adventurous.

    No, really... check it out.

Still can't get a decent tarte aux pommes Normande here and the croissants this side of the Channel are like cardboard, but you can't have everything... and a beef hotpot with dumplings cooked in Guinness more than compensates

edit - yeah I'd have picked Indian too if it'd been there.

damn- I forgot that I could vote for more than one category! I would have added on mexican and chinese with thai as well! When you can't eat breads and pasta, the joy is taken out of a lot of types of foods

Are bread and pasta against your religion, or are you watching what you eat (calorie counting)?

Me too!! Mexican (well, real mexican...not chain restaurant 'mexican') and Italian would also make my list.

Also, Indian. And Ethiopian. Love those flavors. And Vietnamese.

Really...I'm not sure there's a cuisine yet that I don't like! Just certain ingredients that I hate!
