    Stanley Kubrick
Is it that by its indefiniteness it shadows forth the heartless voids and immensities of the universe, and thus stabs us from behind with the thought of annihilation, when beholding the white depths of the milky way?

Probably Danny Boyle. He's not my favorite...but he might be the best suited.

Tarantino. And then I'll let him change it the way he did with WWII in Inglorious Basterds. I hope he'll make me die a spectacular death in the end. Hitchcock would be great too, but I thought he was dead. (Edit: checked it, Hitchcock is already dead since April 1980.)
I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower. The TV was obviously on. I used to fly myself and I said, "There's one terrible pilot."

what if our lives are a movie and everything that happens to us and to everything around us is all just the doings of some brilliant film director? WHAT then?

Take the red pill. Or make more popcorn. The choice is yours.

This is a great topic. I would need someone who can shoot the hell out of a picture visually, writes well (I spin out great dialogue, in real life and in writing, but my structure is crap), possesses good stylistic range (could handle my switches from light and funny to dark and disturbing to romantic and sensual), and has a veteran touch to keep everything grounded. I would go with Jonathan Demme.
