My mom says I do a good impression of Jimmy Stewart.

My favorite interpretation of It's a Wonderful Life is probably Gremlins, which was initially written more directly as a dark satire of the former film. (But you can still see the It's a Wonderful Life overtones in Gremlins.)

Is there a scene from It's a Wonderful Life in Gremlins? I also like that movie, but Gremlins 2 wasn't as good imo.

Did you see Event Horizon? Seems like your kind of film Here's a clip- event horizon

Funny you mention it, Gremlins 2 was originally written as a spoof on the first Gremlins movie rather than a sequel.

Yes. Not such a great sci-fi film, but it does have some fantastic model work, detailed here. The director of that film was Paul W.S. Anderson, who wrote and directed Mortal Kombat, Soldier, and Resident Evil, to name a few. All three films have a great sense of vision, but really shitty writing.

The stained-glass knight sequence in Young Sherlock Holmes was quite amazing in its day.

And I always loved any scenes with the Recognizers in TRON, they made such a cool sound. And, of course, the Lightcycles.

I also remember Return to Oz. It had excellent claymation sequences, but the part that really freaked me out when I saw it at about 6 years old was the witch's collection of heads. I thought this was what the original Wizard of Oz should have been.

    Jones!

Edit: Though without an online video, I would have as my first choice the Nepal barfight scene from the same movie, as it's one of the finest choreographed sequences ever made.

Ah, Frank Marshall's cameo. (The one in the plane.)

I forgot who the big dude is, although I'm pretty sure he was a crew member making a cameo, too.

Pat Roach is his name -- a stunt coordinator, I believe. In all three movies (in the Nepal scene, too). He looks like my great-grandfather.

Does anyone here remember the scene in My Best Friend's Wedding in which Rupert Everett leads an entire seafood restaurant in singing "I Say a Little Prayer for You" to Julia Roberts?

    Priceless.

The restaurant scene in Grosse Pointe Blank with Dan Aykroyd and John Cusack. The profanity is so over the top it's just hilarious.

The scene on the street in Pootie Tang where Wanda Sykes gets approached by some johns and she goes off on them for thinking she's a prostitute.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”
