That's weird, I tend to assume that everyone online is female.

I tend to associate people with their avatar, and yet, there are still very few I've mistaken for the wrong gender, including T females with males in their avatars. I am rarely surprised. I can only recall one male INFP on another board I thought was female due to the girl in his avatar and his big post on why women should't have to shave their underarms .

As for me, people always seem aware that I am female. I do mention it in posts and have a photo of myself on my profile usually, but I think I seem female regardless.
Often a star was waiting for you to notice it. A wave rolled toward you out of the distant past, or as you walked under an open window, a violin yielded itself to your hearing. All this was mission. But could you accomplish it? (Rilke)

I rarely think in those terms. If it makes it any easier I never imagined your expression other than female. I tend to be able to distinguish peoples gender reasonably well. There are times when I take the structural information that is implied with the way people behave and imagine whether it fits a female or male prototype in regards to T/F variance. And I usually when I am attentive enough distinguish the variance between T/F female reasonably well.

Although when I am lazy I go and read just a members name rather than checking out their style of communication and then I get it wrong. Names do express a female and male resonance. And that is the first stereotypical impression people have, accompanied by avatar selection and T/F speak sense. Then the percentile changes along the curve.

hahha I remember when I played warcraft I learned the difference well. Communication is completely different. A friends avatar was female and initially I thought was female. But then the nuances in the way he accomplished tasks and communicated changed me to think he wasn't female. I wasn't shocked to hear him tell me that he was a gay INTP male, he then wanted to get to know me. I was more disappointed by that and went to another server. Since then I knew who was female and male in avatar forms even if they pretended otherwise. But I generally kept to myself, lone wolf, disliked the guilds system too, when I lvled to the max people were gobsmacked I'd just leave them.

But yeah the point, people can pretend to be whatever they want to be and the falsification of type as well as the falsification of gender plays a role in the interpretation of gender personalities.
