As for mine, they have been, in chronological order:
    • neurons
    • a cute shooting star painting
    • Tarako mascot next to a little baby
    • Regina Spektor

I chose them because somehow I related to each of these and/or found them aesthetically pleasing in some way.

Thank you! I knew when I saw it I had to steal it.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

My avatars aren't filled with quirky women, just quirky dudes who look like chicks.

With mine, it is just that I identify with the whole scene. I saw it and thought, "perfect." My woman just 'felt' right to me. So I have kept her.

Whoa, there's a face on your avatar! I never noticed it before. I've always thought of it as lettuce and I've often wondered what would be the reason behind putting lettuce up as an avatar.
