    oh...that's beautiful.

Europe is so darn PRETTY. And all of the history to boot. So rich and old.

Looks even better on a clear day, I took that in the winter though. I was standing on the ramparts of the castle where William the Conqueror was born.

close up... The Norman flag flies proudly from the tower

Check out the size of the full grown trees next to the castle, for an idea of scale.

ARG. Envy. As you say so casually, '....I was standing on the ramparts....' - oh, just an everyday occurrence. :-P

The winter shot is nice though; the haziness adds to the effect, I think.

And I love castles too. That one's interesting - the rocky hillside, and that the land wasn't leveled off before the castle was built. I haven't seen any french ones yet; only spanish and irish ones. Some day though....

by definition you should not choose your own town/country,
it's like saying that your mom or your dad is your best friend.

Scotland does sound fantastic. I've always wanted to go to Turkey. Or Hong Kong. <--- possibly resulting from consumption of too many Hong Kong movies.

Turkey has its own beauty for sure, it's a nice place to visit as a tourist. But then I'm kinda predisposed, I guess. Same thing about Scotland - I'll remain mentally fixated on how it's really the most tranquil place ever, until - hopefully - someday I fly there and have a look around. :)
    Not really.

    The US. Believe it.

I spent a month on the East Coast when I was 14 and I fully intend to go back. I guess I'm sort of a closet American.
