I think he's hard headed and prejudiced, but I don't mind how much he posts. Besides, aren't we all hard headed and prejudiced?

    Yeah...mmm...whores...bad whores.

Oh...Lark's threads make me laugh because he doesn't follow them up like everyone has said and leaves little room for elaborating and dissecting the OP post.

[edited portions pertaining to deleted posts]

I kind of enjoy Larkene discussions, even though I often—but not always—disagree with him. I give him props for being willing to initiate and participate in discussions on sensitive topics. I do find it frustrating that often he stops responding before the discussion feels over, and it seems like one has to start from scratch the next time he raises a related topic. I also find it's difficult to have a discussion that goes anywhere with him since it's hard to agree on shared facts, much less shared interpretations.

Still, he's not a monster, and is usually civil about disagreeing.

    /Official Hat

Its refreshing actually to see that people have approached this thread in a positive light, on the whole, and had a sensible discussion about something quite difficult - the public criticism of how someone starts threads and how they do it.

Nevertheless, posts and threads directly criticising a specific member's posting styles are not welcome.

If people have a particular issue they can "contact" the madmin team directly or report a troublesome post and we can take appropriate action without this sort of public airing.

    Official hat off

Follow-up to Geoff's post: most threads in this post have been very constructive, even the critical ones. some, on the other hand, were not. those posts have been removed.

A post whore is a virtual attention whore. The attention whore brings the same attitude into online forums where they assert their “look at me” persona by invading the board with a large presence of posts.
With apologies to Zarathustra: Urban Dictionary: post whore

I am aware, now, of the fact that Lark is a fully-functioning hot-blooded heterosexual male, with a penchant for hanging about the Ladies Bottoms' thread. Ahem.

But on a serious note. Every time a new thread is created, one is bumped off.

One can accept the intention as benign; but the result is exactly the same as a thread whore - which is to bump off other threads, as a matter of course, for the purpose of self-aggrandisment.

The irony, of course, is that Larky is as likely to bump his own posts off, due to his prolific posting skills and general lack of aptitude. So I suppose it's quits.

It's a difficult line to draw. Good luck.

Hitler, Ivy. You are like Hitler. Don't take away rights. Don't do that sort of thing. Rights are good.

The day I get annoyed by someone making inoffensvie threads on a forum is the day I'll realize I am spending too much time there - nobody forces me to read them.
"Of course we spent our money in the good times. That's what you're supposed to do in good times! You can't save money in the good times. Then they wouldn't be good times, they'd be 'preparation for the bad times' times."

"Every country in the world owes money. Everyone. So heere's what I dont get: who do they all owe it to, and why don't we just kill the bastard and relax?"
