Yeah it's good I don't always jump on his threads, but it's nice that he helps prevent forum stagnation.

    Nothing wrong with attention whoring.

No forum would keep its dynamics without it.

Actually the present situation is a huge improvement on a few months ago, where Larky's rate was 3 or 4 new threads per day.

I gather from a convo he had with Teslagirl that he was "advised" to cut down the volume of his postings.

That said, he has the capability to produce interesting threads that provoke some heated debate, but his main weakness is to mistake quantity for quality: for every 10 threads he spins, maybe one hits some sort of mark and gets more than a few replies.

He seems to prefer starting threads, but not finishing them.

Haha yeah, he just throws a bunch of crumbs into a flock of pigeons and watches them fight.

It doesn't make much difference either way - although a bunch of the threads could easily be merged into one, since they are basically the same topic rehashed from different angles.

Of course, that also goes for many threads on the forum by various posters.

What does it mean to "finish" a thread?

Haha. Yeah, I worded that really poorly. I mean to manage it. He throws something out, but then doesn't always respond or dialogue about it. Over time, it gets to where you just know this thread is going to die after page 2, so why bother?

Edit: although I usually like his topics.
