Damn. I thought you were looking for ideas on what to do with your new gun. That, I had something in mind.

You can't afford a rifle? I'd buy a barrett m82 anti-material rifle (whatever that is) and explode things with it.

the 1980 smith n wesson model 686 double action revolver(WTI)? I fancy the design of revolvers. My first shot was from a revolver--though a tiny one.
A search for truth is a search for a greedy perspective.

Nah, that's not truth. That's just your bullshit ideas of truth. Truth is always inclusive. If it's not inclusive, then toughen it up and try harder.

LOL... I can afford a rifle.
I just don't want a "somewhat portable cannon".
I'll start shooting IPSC Rifle (practical shooting) at some point later.
    Handguns first, though.
My club is in the process of getting an IPSC rifle instructor that can issue license right now.
The whole thing is new in Sweden.

If you don't know what IPSC or IPSC rifle is... Well. Here:

I would skip the 22 unless its for target shooting, for your bedside/carry weapon i would suggest something simple and easy like a snubby .38 with hollow points. You have to always guess where your rounds are going, if youre shooting a criminal coming through the door late at night with your desert eagle .50 the bullet will most likely leave your house after it penetrates the perp. More firepower isnt always better. a Glock 9mm is an awesome carry gun.

Cool, I learned something. I thought handguns weren't allowed in most European countries.

Is it just for entertainment or do you have some other purpose in mind? Are you allowed to just carry them around?

If I were you, I'd wait the 6 months and put that money towards buying 1 handgun. A well maintained gun will last you a lifetime so a little patience is worth it in the long run.

I'd suggest 9mm or .45 as the ammunition is easier to attain in a pinch. Sticking to the common models and calibres makes it easier to find replacement or upgrade parts. Getting something special or fancy sounds fun but you want a model with a tried and true design so you can count on it to be reliable.

My suggestions - if you want full-sized service go with 1911A1 or Beretta 92, if you're looking for concealed carry, Sig Sauer P220 carry, or a HK USP Compact, both of which come in .45 and pack plenty of punch without being too bulky.

Slight preference for the HK for the flush hammer

I've been poking around today, looking at a USP Elite 9 mm.
It's not beautiful, that's my main problem with it, but I like the idea of it.
Have to test-fire one first, though...

    Maybe a CZ 75 ST IPSC? I like .40 S&W. It's just that it's more expensive than the 9mm.
I'm looking to waste lots and lots of ammo on the range. I don't know about the ammo prices in the U.S, but even 9 mm is sort of expensive here.
Easily 35-40 dollars for even shitty 9 mil ammo (100 rds).
.45 ACP and .40 S&W is good to hand-load, and many of my friends do that.
I don't have the gear yet, although I could probably borrow some time in my friend's garage every once in a while.
