Fear, by far. I can suppress anger for a very long time but fear absolutely stymies me, I can't do anything and can't even think straight. I can't reason it away.

I thought about shame, but for me, that's just another form of fear. I'm just fearing that if people know all my faults that they won't like me.

true, it's just as easy not to have control of positive emotions! Like when you learn that you have an interview for a job that you really really want or something of that sort... who's going to keep their happiness to themselves?

You mean happiness, like euphoria? Because I don't see why anyone would even try to control positive emotions. Euphoria can at least be seen negatively and should probably be controlled though.

Love is two sided. Can think of a few situations where people would want to control that. :P

Fluffywolf: why does it HAVE to be a negative emotion? just because you can't control it doesn't mean that it's bad!

and AO: that's for you introverted people extroverts extrovert signifigantly more often!

Oh, I do that too, as I said, what I find hard to control is my apathy. :P

Still, there is never a 'need' to control positive emotions in the same way people might feel the 'need' to control negative emotions. I don't think people have problems with being postive like people have with being negative.

I just find it hard to compare the two.

Anger/feeling of "hopelessness with a dash of fear"....

I have a hard time controlling my anger.

When I'm supremely pissed off, I don't know what to do , and it takes the form of crying( not full out crying, just tearing up)... ><! which pisses me off even more, and thus the cycle begins. LOL
and then I'll calmly tell myself ( in my head ) " you have to stop, they're going to think you're sad" and I take a breathe, and it stops. all of the sudden, which creeps people out even more . hahahaha

    but definitely anger.

more than anger, its the feeling of "hopelessness with a dash of fear", which doesn't occur often, but only when a situation is literally out of my control, will I start feeling hopeless..leading to anger... leading to tears of anger...

however, hopelessness/w ADofF isn't really an emotion is it?

I'm rarely angry though, and the feeling of hopelessness/waDofF is even less common.

I'm usually pretty good with controlling my emotions. It's only when I'm around my insane family that I lose a little of myself...

Regret mainly regret. Every important action I take I mourn over for the loss of a better action.

    Jealousy and anxiety.

From a biological standpoint, it seems like fear (anxiety?) and lust should be the hardest emotions for us to control, as they are directly linked to survival (fearing that which puts us in danger) and reproduction (hump me now!).

The others obviously all have primitive biological ties as well, but fear and lust seem to have the strongest link to biological imperatives.
