Yeah, not a good idea if you're a guy. Girls do it though, but they're allowed. This thread is sending me back. One prom was at an aquarium and two turtles got into a fight, which was awesome; at another one, one of my GF's friends grabbed my ass by accident [she thought I was her date] and they started yelling at each other before they figured out what the hell was going on.

    I'd do it again though.

how it went down for me. while sitting in my car.
woman - "so will you go to prom with me?"
    me - "sure."

shiz is so over hyped in my town. a vast majority of creative people will go out in the parking lot and window chalk "prom?" on the persons car or parking space. awesome, how could they refuse such a clever person.

Never went to prom, thought it was a monumental waste of time. I went out and got wasted with some friends and did drugs instead. In retrospect, I kind of wish I had gone to prom considering that the drugs were a much bigger waste of time and money.

Nothing really interesting, but my asking was funny. I was nervous and mixed up my words, just like on TV.

"Will you go with prom to me?"

Oh, those prepositions. I don't think she even noticed, whereas I was cringing to myself later.

I got asked to prom, while standing dripping wet on the steps of the auditorium wearing a bikini (pool running!), by my best friend's twin brother... my automatic response was "you're that surprised to see a girl in a bikini?"

we went and it was rather disasterous... our food was taken away when we had our picture taken and we couldn't get anymore, so we were hungry and cranky (and stopped by taco bell on the way out!) and my dress strap broke right in front of the principal, who stared for a moment and then said "Miss ___ , are you in the habit of flashing me?" (I'd had a wardrobe malfunction on a science club campout the summer before where he was a chaperone )... then I broke my foot at afterprom

My date was fun, but the rest of the evening kind of sucked... for those of you who never went to prom, you aren't missing much!
