    Tada. The lazy man's tux.

"A spill at the plant increased the phosphates in the lake and produced a scum of algae so thick that the swamp smell filled the air, infiltrating the genteel mansions. Debutantes cried over the misfortune of coming out in a season everyone would remember for its bad smell."

This is the standard for formal clothing in the Netherlands, tuxedos are what the waiters wear.

I was going to say a vest/waistcoat (depending where you're from ) with an open jacket, and perhaps a tie. Even a plain black one is great but you can pick some more out there patterns and colours. It is still formal but it can make a guy look (in my opinion) sexy and fun.

    some examples

Perhaps a blazer of some color? Gunpowder black with golden buttons, white shirt, dark tie, well-fitting slacks with matching texture/color as the blazer and black leather shoes.
I like blazers. If you have a beard of some sort, trim it and groom it well. This way, you'll look somewhat like a captain without standing out that much.
Also, don't fuck up the hair too much

This blazer isn't really a good-looking one, but I couldn't find many pictures at all.
Gahrhhhgh. Well. There should be a row of golden buttons by the wrists, too.
Really important and good for the overall effect of it.
