there is a song by Ben Folds about his daughter where he says; 'you fell asleep on my arm watching TV, i won't move you an inch even though my arm's asleep.'
it is pretty exciting how as an adult you get to see those same situations that were so meaningful to you as a kid in a totally new way, and you see this whole new meaning and enjoyment in them.

Yes, were. Once puberty came, I went inside a shell and locked myself there for several years. I'm just now coming out of that shell.

I remember yelling at kids twice my age and telling them not to run in the grocery store. Or when I'd boldly go up to any boy I liked and I'd tell them that I was in love with them.
Or whenever other kids were getting picked on, I'd get all up in the bully's face and tell them to knock their crap off.

I was afraid of almost nothing.

I miss just being able to go outside and always find someone who wanted to play. now that a lot of people are bogged down by work, kids, good marriages... bad marriages.. mowing the freakin lawn.. whatever.. it can be frustrating
