My dad's whole side of the family (where all my cooking skills come from) are originally from Spain, BUT my dad and his family were born and raised in Puerto Rico. We have lots of Cuban friends and friends form the Dominican Republic, so we've intertwined our cooking skills. As for the Mexican cooking, I spent 5 years living on the border of Mexico and Texas and quickly learned what authentic Mexican food is (NOT Taco Bell).

    Ohhh, it's on momma sita!

Peguy, when I lived in Wisconsin I was disappointed to see that perogies seem to be foreign to most and certainly were not purchaseable at regular grocery stores. Is that representative of most places in the US, or just that little corner of the country? Come to Saskatchewan and we'll cook you up a proper mess of that stuff. I just had some last night. Mmmmm!

Peguy: I'm not gonna lie, that stuff looks kinda gross to me. Maybe it's just because I've been raised with a different culture of food. I mean, I'd try it, but from here.....no.

It's not pretty food, but when you steep everything in cream and butter, it gets tasty.

I used to live in one of the most highly-populated Polish regions of Michigan. Perogies were everywhere! Yum.

I grew up on that stuff.

Cream and butter huh?... I may just have to try it then.
I can imagine it smells and tastes better than it looks.

What region are those type of dishes from? It looks Polish.
