I'm just not paranoid enough to really do anything to prevent this from happening though.

I generally just PM people if it's something personal or clandestined

    wall posting is for fun!

it just always seems un-fun of people not to have the wall option to me... if it's not something in the PM category, pms just seem to be an overkill, so I tend not to send them- no wall option just seems to be imposing communications limits on others

I go to this forum to stimulate my mind, to practise my writing.

I don't need to have meaningless mini-conversations with ever Joe and Susan I encounter.

Ha, precisely! It's all very strange. Like having to drive to someone's house just to say "hi" when you've got no intentions of actually coming inside.

So for you, it's more of a outgoing communication that you are seeking, disregard? That's fair enough. I guess you can do that in writing in a way that would seem strange if it were in person talking.

There's not always a post to rep, though. Some times we need another way to contact a user and give our two cents, so that's when I turn to wall posts.

I prefer to avoid sending PMs because they can be so invasive. That little pop-up is just begging for the recipient's attention, regardless of what other things he/she may be engaged in at the time. If I receive a PM, I almost always go straight to reading it. If I receive a wall post, I let it brew alone on my wall until I have time to get around to reading it (usually after the excitement of a thread has ended, or there's no other threads to respond to).

I rep first (if the commentary I have is about a specific post), and many times the reps turn into wall posts. If there is no post to rep, then I go straight to wall posts. The only time I PM is if the conversation is very important or very private.

    Yeah.

I'm even more extreme than this wall-lacking bit would present me. For the longest time I had PMs off, but I've warmed up to it.

Ah, but if there's no post, then what are you giving to them two cents for?

Wait... are you talking kosher dills or sweet gerkins?

At the moment, I just confine Wall posts to my friends list.
I might change that again at some point or I might not.
