I'm not the one who takes black and white photos of myself at magazine angles.
Please stay on topic, we are talking about how great California is and the people that live in the different parts of the state. There's no need to get personal and start talking about my lovely black and white photos, I already know they are magazine worthy.
BTW did you see my last one? I should probably frame it.
Draconian laws? Surely you never lived South of the Mason-Dixon line. I think it's much worse in the Southeastern U.S. than in California. Apparently there's still a law in WV that you can beat your wife as long as it's not on Sunday and you don't use a stick bigger than a certain size.

I have lived in California most of my life and it is pretty cool place to live. Its more like a country than a state. Different areas of the state can be extremely different in many respects.
In general the coastal cities are the best although there are a few quiet cool inland areas (i.e. Bishop, Tahoe, Palms Springs, Grass Valley, Lakeport etc..). In general I find the people friendlier/cooler in the north and the weather preferable in the south coast.
The worse thing about California is the rents/costs of homes, the recent economy and job availability/quality.
Earthquakes are kinda fun (maybe not if they get as big as the one in Chile)...Fires can be nasty.
