I give them to my mother immediately.
I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower. The TV was obviously on. I used to fly myself and I said, "There's one terrible pilot."

Sometimes they stick around, sometimes they remain sealed, other times they're ripped out and sometimes they dissappear without a trace.

They're kinda like farts to me..

Your farts sometimes come with money inside?

Ooh...maybe some ritualistic burning might be fun instead of just throwing them out. Thanks for the cards, I loved them and now it's time for them to go up in smokes...the nice feeling remains but there's no need for physical evidence.
Ooooh, exactly this! The bolded part is just right on!

I keep all of them. They tend to get lost one by one along the way, usually when I'm moving between places. I think the oldest I have is from 4 or 5 years ago. I'm with Jeffster on this.

I keep almost all of them too ... from hubs, kids, mom & dad, ma-in-law, letters from friends ... I suppose I am sentimental on such things.

I have three kinds of storage - a box for memories, a box for ideas and interesting articles, and then storage for the bills etc. That way I can kinda keep the chaos organized, keeping so much rather than tossing.

I liked Synarch's idea too actually.

Same here. It usually doesn't take very long.

Too long. I usually put them in a drawer and then in the roof of my garage where they stay. Despite this in general I am not much of a card fan (unless it has $ in it)

put them up somewhere, even if they didn't do anything but sign them. I have some from years ago somewhere. I never look at them.

When I give a card (immediate family only) I always try and write something besides my name in it, otherwise it's just worthless imo. I kind of wish they didn't exist hah
