there's this guy from Birmingham UK that is in a few bands I like, I saw an interview with him and he's got a pretty thick accent. Not really annoying as it makes me want to repeat in certain words over and over, kind of like this one comedian who remarked on this time he was in Philadelphia and bought something worth 5 dollars from this vendor, who said it like "fie dollahs". So it got stuck in his head and kept walking around all day saying 'fie dollahs, fie dollahs, fie dollahs' to himself.

it was weird because I do that with accents too.

I was just going to say that I've noticed it in Toronto, thinking that it may be a regional thing, but then I see, you're from Toronto.

You'd have to be from elsewhere to pick up on it, praps.

Did you vote for yourself, Victor?

You looove to be blamed, don't you?

Yes, I did vote for myself. But its true, even Ozzies don't find our accent euphonious.

And it was in Second Class in Primary School that I decided I was a show-off. So it is not so much I love to be blamed as I equally love to be praised. Just as long as I am not ignored.

So I am equally sanguine whether I am loved or hated, as long as I am not treated with indifference.

WTF? How did someone vote for Texan?!

Also, I would like to point out that "Texan" is southern, but southern is not Texan. Someone from Texas speaks completely differently than someone from say...South Carolina. Twang vs. Drawl.

I can't help but notice that you're missing a couple accents, there, most notably Northeastern American and AAVE. And not all Southern accents are Texan.

And... it's kind of horrible but I'm starting to be able to distinguish between Canadian and norther American accents.

I don't so much mind the sound of the Northern Midwestern USA accent but the fact that the people who speak it often feel the need to SHOUT it.

And folks, let me tell you. There's more than one type of Texan accent. It's a big place. Northern Central Texas (as spoken by Hank Hill) is very different from a West Texas accent. And I never heard any Texas accent that sounded like GWB so I don't know what part of Texas that came from! Kennebunkport I suppose.

How nice to know I inspired a poll.

Or how about Black country English:

I agree. Slavic accents are very attractive.
