Hard to say... I don't know if that necessarily means it has the most languages, since we know that multiple cultures may speak the same language. I believe India is the most linguistically diverse nation in the world, but I'm not confident on that.

I really have no idea. It was the weirdest thing -- I think I just kind of sat there for a moment wondering what she had just said before figuring it out.

Even if that was the goal of the thread, I don't think he realizes how many Americans here who desperately want to click "NEW ENGLAND" and Canadians who want to click "NEWFIE" but they CAN'T because of his DAMNED FRENCHNESS.

We don't have accents here in lower Michigan. We all sound like US news anchors. Every one of us.
I like to rock n' roll all night and *part* of every day. I usually have errands... I can only rock from like 1-3.

Making comparisons with France is not very satisfactory, since you can say we only have one sole accent in France, with only tiny variants, very superfical ones. Basically it's the same language that is spoken in Belgium, France, Switzerland, or Africa.

Most of the time, a foreigner can only notice some real differences with Canadian-French or Creole-French, and that's all. And even then, when you really think about them, those differences aren't so huge.

Please, be realistic for a change.
Mastering several other languages or having real notions of linguistics could help you become slightly more humble.

Actually Michigan has a very infamous accent:
    michigan accent pronunciation guide

"A little bit Fargo, a little bit Nasal Chicago, and a little bit Canadian, the Michigan Accent was derived from a lot of the linguistic influences of its early settlers: Irish, Finnish, Welsh and Dutch. In some areas, particularly around blue collar parts of Detroit, hordes of poor Southerners who came up the Dixie Highway to work on the assembly lines in the early-to-mid 1900's have also injected a bit of Southern twang into our Northern European heritage.

The resulting mix is similar to a pirate from Kentucky with a head cold... something my friends give me a hard time about quite frequently."

Uh, yeah, no. African French is completely unintelligible to a new French speaker while Canadian-French is somewhat intelligible.
