I don't get why someone would be enthusiastic about their country just because they were born there and happened to grow up there.

I do understand enthusiasm for what the country has to offer- things to see, agreement with cultural and political values, things like that.

It would be a miserable existence if you weren't enthusiastic about anything.

Feels like my home away from home.

New Jersey's cool but when ever I got back to Pennsylvania, it felt like returning home.
Having said that, when in New Jersey, Seaside Heights in Ocean County... It was my New Jersey home, was 5/10 minute walk from that place to the board walk, New Jersey is fucking cool... I love Seaside Heights, like, weekends there and stuff, but... Pennsylvania always felt like home to me... Out there I mean, was good.

I think growing up somewhere is what causes you to identify with things like cultural and political values. I mean this isn't scientific but I've heard people talk about the difference in attitude of people from various countries. I'm hardly a jingoism and I definitely don't believe that the United states is infallible or necessarily better than all other countries. However there are certain things that I think are characteristic of Americans that I do like about our country. I don't know how to describe it but.....the American spirit.

Americans have more energy and creativity than anyone else. And as we judge others by ourselves, we underestimate Americans.
