In general, I like the people who hold similar viewpoints. Insulting people and people who use over the top imagery and people who go too far astray with analogies and metaphors are those I do not like. Decentralized, ignorant, or artisitic posts are also unliked.

Is it that by its indefiniteness it shadows forth the heartless voids and immensities of the universe, and thus stabs us from behind with the thought of annihilation, when beholding the white depths of the milky way?

Imagine a few continua, on which a post can score a positive value, negative value, or zero. Those continua would be as follow:

Kindness: I think that's pretty self-explanatory. But you know, patience and consideration. A respectful tone toward others. Help over harm, diplomacy instead of combat.

Intelligence: Kind of broad, but this could be a demonstration of knowledge, comprehension, awareness, or insight. Big points if it informs me or provokes thought from me.

Humour: Quite simply how funny I think a post is. Yes, this value can go into the negative range of anti-funniness.

Agreement: Yeah, I give you points if I agree with you. I know a lot of people profess this ideal where we shouldn't let differences of opinion affect our approval of others, but to hell with that. Be honest, there's something appealing in a like mind.

Form: This is a lesser score, but still, if you write well and have good posting habits, that is at least mildly appreciated. It does color my opinion of posts at least a little bit.

So then, I total the positives and negatives of those continua for the post, and then I total the collective post scores for the whole user, and I ultimately have an idea of how much I like the person. Keep in mind I don't actually have a score or do this methodically, but it's roughly what I do in my head.

Pretty much anyone who doesn't feel forced or try to prove something to the world.

politeness-can be very blunt but still respectful

Non-argumentative- can still get their point across w/o it being like WWIII

    has to be somewhat logical

    insightful/thoughtful

    not too arrogant/condescending/cocky/elitist

Doesn't take things too seriously (but then I have probably been guilty of being uptight on this forum)

That being said, I don't dislike many members (people, in general) and if I do dislike someone, I'm open to changing my mind.
