I joined as an S, but the Ss kicked me out fairly quickly. I tested N all my life anyway, so I accepted that. It's my job that makes me skew S sometimes.

I think a fair few who joing th site are relatively young and possibly not bototmed their preferences out.

I do take your point that people may skew to fit in (which is a little sad, it's not like N type typical skew to fit in IRL).

There are a few pretnders, who I don;t have much tiem for... get a life... but the folks who genuinely feel they are unsure I think need tollerance and understanding.

Personally speaking, looking at MBTI data, the S/N divide is almost certainly the least likely to land in the middle, most types seem to spike firmly in one camp or the other... ok that wont be 100% of the time but almost that... so I have some doubts unless a person had gone through a major life change. Hence of all the dicotomise, this is the one I am most skeptical about ambiguit about.... All types have both qualities... if I person is in the middle it's likely their kin and friends know exactly which type they were. A friend of mine claimed to be unsure... the guy is screamingly S.... he often appoligises to people for getting overly details and boring them... which then makes me smile when he says he is unsure...

There are a lot of people who claim to be N that are actually S.

I think that the reason for this is that these S types see that they can do intuitive processes, so they immediately think that they are one. This is probably because of how it's all worded and the bias.

It isn't specified that Ss are interested in theories and abstractions that apply to something in their lives, while Ns seem content with analyzing random things that are useless in reality.

    That totally happened to me.

See, it's things like this that make me think I might be an 's' type. But I don't type myself as an INFP because it is more highly respected or anything. I just nearly always (except once - ISFP) test INFP.

I agree, c.73% of the population in the UK and online stats (skewed to the US I'd think) are S....

Yeah it gets weird. I don't think you're ISFP though.

Maybe it's just the N dom types that are comfortable with that?

Funny I think accepting test results at face value would be more of an S thing maybe?

I've made a thread similar to this once. 'Sensors who thinks they are Intuitives' but it's quite painful to look back at, as I humiliated myself and looked like an idiot, but the point in it I was trying to make (yet people misunderstood me) was the same as this thread.
S and N are just preferences. Which would mean an S could be more intuitive than an N and vice versa. If you solely prefer to be an S yet deny it you are denying what you truly prefer being among anything else.
