In both cases the freedom to speak without scrutiny is productive, I think...and in the case of the modbox, a necessary function of moderating the forum.

Can you imagine the outcry, drama and embarrassment if the forum membership at large were privy to discussions about bans or infractions that are ultimately decided against? Or privy to the details of personal attacks or spats between members that the mods are trying to adjudicate? Bad news.
    This.

I'm probably not the first member to start this type of thread, and I'm sure many more will come in the future...

Isn't PM'ing good enough for discussing forum issues, and problem members?

I vote that we get to see what is in that modbox, and read what the mods "possibly" have said about other members of TC, after all, isn't this place about discovery?... If you ban me, C'est la vie!... Power to the free!

Wouldnt that just cause more harm then good? havnt been here long so i havnt got a say on this really but... if this modbox contained a fair amount of negative comments and messages about other members wouldnt it just cause unnecessary drama? aside from that they ARE ment to be personal right?

"privacy" isn't a human invention. it just is. different people have invaded my privacy over the years and continue to do so. And i totally resent certain people who cannot keep their stupid mouths shut for telling others about the things they know about me. if you can't keep "private" behavior and conversations to yourself, i consider you banned from my inner circle. i guess that would mean ALL of you!

Except me. I am allowed the odd indiscretion, but not too many.

Of course, in turn I allow Bcvcdc the odd indiscretion as well. But she is actually the soul of discretion, and when I am tempted to reveal all, I only have to think of Bcvcdc and my lips are sealed.
