I was going to state a serious opinion on this thread but it seems because AyoitsStepho made it it disintegrated into fluff. She certainly is considered to be of the high ranking fun members on the forum. Quite the influence I must say. Too dazzling.
"How dreadful!" cried Lord Henry. "I can stand brute force, but brute reason is quite unbearable. There is something unfair about its use. It is hitting below the intellect." ~ Oscar Wilde - The picture of Dorian Gray
Hmmm, based on my cross-section of post count and time since I've joined, I'm at the very least a highly established and vetted member.
To what degree I am "dominant" I do not know. I'm not even sure what that means.
I'm pretty sure you are not a dominant member.
To save you the effort: Take that as mostly a compliment, with a little bit of insult thrown in for good measure.
As for the topic, my guess would be that dominant members occur when new posters leave after experiencing the forum for a while, usually because of a hostile environment, and the older members circle jerk each other to the point where they make up half the forum's posts. Then you can't ignore the dominant members without some very incoherent conversations resulting. Thus they secure their throne of power, or something dramatic like that, and then people like me bitch about it excessively.
This forum is too big and welcoming for that to happen I think.
