Back in Grade 2 I was called Captain "my name" since I liked to run around the playground imagining I was in a space ship . After leaving that school it didn't really come after me till a school baseball tornament when I was in Grade 5. All kinds of different schools were there and it ended up cirrculating to all those schools from there. I moved again to another school, they all knew the nick, but it ended up being shortened to Cap'n and that was the start of my more popular days.

I made one up for my little brother one time: Ch'weirdz. It started with his first name and contracted it with the word weirdo (because he's entertainingly strange) then shortened it up. When I'm feeling particularly silly I like to call him Good Old Lord St. Ch'wierdz. Yes, I'm a horrible brother...

I accept no responsibility, what so ever, for the fact that I exist; I do, however, accept full responsibility for what I do while I exist.

    "Butley"

My older brother used to make up nicknames for me when we were little. Eventually, he started telling his friends that I was Butley, and of course they all called me Butley as well. Then, the dreaded day finally came when we were old enough to have the same friends, and like a virus, it spread from him and his friends to all of my friends. Then, to continue it, when my friends introduced me to people, they would say "This is Butley... That was Butley" By the time I was 15, everybody I knew called me Butley. Family members, police officers, teachers, friends, and acquaintances. In fact, it was not uncommon for a person to know me for a year or two and never know my real name. Most of the time, I thought my nickname was cool. I wouldn't have chosen that nickname, but that's the whole point. A true nickname is not chosen. It's given. My first name is boring and common so even though I didn't choose my nickname, I still liked it. I was the one and only Butley.

Nowadays, my nickname is basically just a thing of the past. All of my old friends still call me that though, which is cool. I prefer to be called by my real name now, and not very many people know about my nickname, and I refuse to let anybody I haven't known for years call me Butley unless they've since joined that same old crowd that I used to hang with.

People used to ALWAYS ask me what Butley meant. I was like "It doesn't mean shit! My crazy ass brother made it up when he was 10!"

My best friend had it much worse. They called him Slow for about 5 years. Some people will call me him that forever (and call me Butley), but they are long forgotten and rarely seen. You can guess why they called him that.

Smelly. And no, not because I stink or anything, it's because my last name rhymes or is identical to the word. I did the same with my friend too, her's is Ass. Our last names are strange.

Lol, other than that (which died down and is not used much often) I really dont have a nickname. I'm the nickname giver, not taker. Everyone that I know has at least one nickname. In the beginning they were just codenames (I know silly). I'd use it when I didnt want the person to know when I was talking about them, (It was used more for crushes at the time).

    Example:

-40 name guy (he has like 6 names and I still don't know what his first one is)
-Chicken (the way this guy cut his hair made it look all feathery)
-Bags (he never wore anything that fit him properly baggy clothes most of the time)
-Porn star Bob (yeah, dont ask)

And those are just a few, lol.

Lady Jaye - pretty self explanatory. When I was little, I wanted to be Lady Jaye from GI Joe.

"Johnny B" after the Chuck Berry song Johnny B. Goode
"Luck Berry", a joke name for poker some of my buddies came up with
"The Calcutta Cardsmith" or "CC", which is also the name of a professional poker player
"Nu Metal", which is given to me by a few friends I met at a guitar school who asked "do you play Nu Metal" and I was like "...Nooooo " and I ended up seeing them at school.
"John Boy", a name my neighbor gave me, derived from my first name and my gender
This one is becoming more and more frequent. "Hey you behind the bushes"

That's how all truly great nicknames begin. Like gum thrown in your hair, it never comes out.

I grew up in a small town, so I knew all the cops. And they used to catch me smoking cigarettes all the time, but they'd just take them away. I don't know how many times I almost got arrested or been with people who did. Probably about 10. I got lucky.

I've had a lot of nicknames over the years...

To my parents I can be: Sassle or Sassalini

To my siblings I have been: Elk/Elky, and Crow (I have no idea where those names came from. They just started one day and just kind of continued...)

In high school: My classmates and even some teachers referred to me as "Fish." I played a lot of sports and I pretty much have the most popular girls name of the 1980's, so there were usually at least 2 girls on the team that had the same name as me. Therefore we went by last names. However, one of my coaches could never remember my last name, but it rhymes with the name of a certian kind of fish...so she called me "Fish" and it stuck.

Nowadays: Tons of people call me simply by my last name, or they say both my first and last name together...which really isn't even a nickname at all, but apparently my last name is fun to say.
