    ExTJs (particularly ESTJs)

Why don't we do a (rather inconclusive) study:

    Were you spanked as child?
    Which parent did the spanking?
    What was said parent's type?

And btw, to the OP who thinks that spanking = sick/disgusting. Spankings can go far if they are used in a healthy way. Not all spankings => red tomato bottom that the kid can't sit on for a week. Spanking != beating. Of course there are other modes of disciplining a child, but this one is not completely evil and ineffective.

That's correct, wide-o. Glad you got the point that a more appropriate link could've been used to illustrate the point. Like this one, for example:

Let me google that for you

Well that's okay then. I know a girl who was badly raped and cut up with a knife, but she's alright now. By your logic rape with a knife is okay?

It wasn't that long ago little boys were put down chimneys. Exactly what is your point? That things have moved on? Good.
Meh. I'm not with the whole spanking thing but I'm just giving an explanation why spanking would usually be considered normal. Also, don't exaggerate and compare. It looks annoyingly childish.

Whether it looks childish to you is irrelevant.

Explain why the comparison is not a good one. Namely, that providing the victim gets better, this in some way ameliorates the original violation?

Thanks. Looking forward to your response.

Beating the shit out of your kid.
Forms of emotional verbal abuse. (ie, "Son you're a fucking idiot!" "All you do is get in the way, you good-for-nothing brat!" "Go apologize to that lady for being an all-out terror!" "Just go to your room so I don't have to deal with you anymore!" "I've never known a more rotten child than you!")
Neglecting to discipline your child at all.

    Hm.

I dunno. I'm one of those people who think that spanking should only be practiced between two mutually consenting adults.

Oh God, thanks for reminding me how much my childhood sucked. I'll just be mourning it in the corner.

The victim gets better and loves her raper is it? I was not using logic. I was using statistics whereas a large number of 'spank victims' end up fine with their parents. As to why is something else.

Well parenting is an art, and there are different philosophies/methods for creating such artwork. I'm not going to try to convince you that you should spank, as I probably wouldn't spank my children either, and I don't think that one form of parenting is the end-all, be-all. However, it's an unfair and ignorant assertion to say that all forms of spanking-based discipline are evil/sick/disgusting. There are a good number of psychological studies that show how spanking is effective and is not a detriment to the child's emotional state.

    Sorry

Were you spanked? Or beaten? Or convinced that you were a no-good little brat?
