    N bias.

Saying that, due to experience I have a personal bias against ESTJs and a personal bias towards ENTPs. It's quite strange for an ENTP to want to become an ESTJ though. I always thought they would oppose each other as the rule bearer and the rule breaker.

My first thought was: WHAT? Why would you want to be an ESTJ?? Out of all types?

This is completely wrong. S types have an N function, noob.
If you could be anything you want, I bet you'd be disappointed--am I right?

I'll get flamed for this answer but... Safety. (I don't think I am joking.)
Of course, I then take into assumption that you choose your functions as time go. And I also take another thing for granted: You choose the safer path whereas you find your strengths vs weaknesses and work towards strengthening the muscles rather than trying to do an all-around runner.

And besides, are you telling me that people that prefer a function over the other, are uncapable of using the other function? Oh. I might've taken it seriously,
    Hahahaha, my bad.

Edit: everyone beat me to it.

Why on Earth would you want to do that? Maybe i could understand if you have a reason that exists on Mars, but not on Earth.
I think i just need to hear some positive ESTJ experiences to understand this in the slightest. The few i've witnessed vs. my ENFJness is a killer.

I want to be ENTP or ESTP. I don't like my F.
I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower. The TV was obviously on. I used to fly myself and I said, "There's one terrible pilot."

You guys are all right...what the hell am I thinking?? ESTJs are way too stuck-in-the-mud. I guess being surrounded, nagged, and bitched at by ESFJs and ESTJs (especially ESFJs though, fond of melodrama, crying, and yelling) my whole life is starting to break me.

No, no way...THIS ENTP will NOT be broken!

    Ok...let's go with ENTJ. I don't need to sell my "S". :p

This is a bit more acceptable.
I didn't think anyone would want to sell their Pness though :badumptish:

This isn't true. Sensors can do abstract thinking. In the information gathering part, we use even the same functions, but in a different order
ESTJ - Te Si Ne Fi
ENTP - Ne Ti Fe Si

I experience this difference as follows:
when there is a problem, the ESTJ would check first if it hasn't been solved already - whether by himself or by others - and follow the usual course of action if it has. If he doesn't find a solution, he'll try to find something by abstract reasoning.

We rush in first with a bunch of ideas, especially if we get interested in the problem. If these don't work, or when we're halfway the solution, we remember that actually it has been solved already and we could have done the job in half the time if we had thought of that first. I think this is the main source of frustration and why some ENTPs would like to be more like an ESTJ. But then again, I experienced more than once that I could solve the problem quicker if it needed a bit of creativity.

And ENTPs are airheads jumping around from one interest to the other, combining everything and never realizing anything. You can say something wrong about every type.

You you'll try to be the dictator now, instead of the nag?
    Just kidding!
Of course you can improve, everyone can, but don't try to change because of others trying to make you. It won't work.
    Got questions? Ask an ENTP!
