    Default Regret

I have been doing a little soul searching at the moment, and i keep finding regrets that i never know i had. It made me think, what else is everyone keeping bottled up.

So come now, one and all, and spill the beans, what is it that you regret most about your time here on this green earth. Maybe we can all experience a little healing, and a little improvement from the process. Otherwise, could make for a nice little pity party!

just INFP stuff really. Not going outside, not being lectric-shave smooth, being socially inept for the most part, having inhibitions hold me back from committing to success, being emo, crying myself to sleep, etc.

*sigh* I have a few regrets, but it gets too in depth. Maybe as this thread grows I'll share them.

Perhaps I could loosen your tongue if I went first?

My greatest regret at the moment, is not listening and being consciously aware of what has been in front of my for a long time. Its so regretful because if I had of been more intune, then I could have avoided the very painful situation I am in at the moment. Simply put, I regret not being able to properly control my own arrogance.

I'm almost afraid to share them because it would show people the very depths of my heart. But apart of me wants to share them, I just don't know if I should. I suppose I just figure if anyone shared some really deep regrets or anything than I could come up and follow.

Edit: I'm just going to post it in my blog. I feel its a bit more appropriate since I'm sure people don't want to see me cry, lol.

I regret that I screwed up what would have been a great relationship and have been heartbroken for almost two years now.

I'll add that I do regret allowing people to take advantage of me when they did...

Perhaps you knew it was there and liked it... there, which is why you can now recognize a change in dynamic. We are in tuned to that which is important to us. A past position can be noted as important for what exists and in what context, though our recognizing it does not change various outcomes. There are usually very good reasons for not having awareness. At least imo, as I know little gets past me to begin with.

Hmm... can't think of anything big. I've developed a philosophy that eliminates most regrets. Every time I make a mistake, I think it through as hard as I can and won't stop until I've learned something. So, looking back I see the mistake meaningful as I would not have learned anything without the mistake. And if we are talking about choices that have led us somewhere, I handle them by thinking that I was a different person making the choice than I am now. Now I know better and wouldn't make the choice, but the choice took me on a trip that made me what I am, so, can I say I would be better off if I didn't come this way? No. I am the best me that I can be at this moment.

I have to add that this works only in the long run. At the moment I regret saying something to someone last week, and I know I can't get out of this until I see her again. But I'm sure that no matter how this goes, in the long run I won't regret the outcome.
