    actually that's Ni.
Ne is objective - meaning it only sees real world connections: the ones that the world "offers" to the Ne type.
Ni is subjective - it sees the ones that haven't made themselves available. it "creates" them.
when no more iNtuitions can be discovered, Ne type loses focus on that object and moves on to the next. in the same spot, an Ni type would keep working to make new iNtuitions to the same object [often by using other objects, but the focus is still on the subject] thereby making it a subject.

but an Ne type doesn't naturally have trouble with a single interpretation. sometimes there's only one way...

I love this thread! All this time I've been here, finally one that clears the fog of confusion in my head about what Ne is. Maybe I just needed these one-sentence type of explanations to finally get it. What a relief.

There are no real connections other than those made by the perceiver. It's rather a matter of breadth (Ne) vs. depth (Ni), and I think that Ne users in general are fairly reluctant to dismiss something even if it's seemingly nonsensical.
Ne is openness at the expense of coherence.

Ne is satisfied with one explanation... it just provides a million of them, not realizing it solved the problem before.
Ne keeps you interested in anything - finds something interesting everywhere.

Ne does NOT see hidden connections which are invisible for ordinary people. It MAKES connections - wrong ones, useless ones, crazy ones, funny ones and sometimes right or useful ones.
Luckily there exist judging functions to filter out the good ones.

Ne only works when I tell myself that this is only the brainstorming stage and I start putting stuff on the whiteboard.

No way dude; it puts the "she" in the bop-she-bop. Otherwise it'd just be two completely disconnected bops.
