Perhaps, because you have a very 'stiff' like mind in the real world (And I say that with all the NT respect I possible can, don't mean it negatively), you compensate in daydreams by 'going loose' a bit?
Actually yes, my daydreams do compensate for my 'stiff-like' mind when I deal with the real world but I also try and see how my daydreams may turn to reality. For example: If I ever daydream to be an assassin I see how I'd be able to reach that point in reality following steps towards how I'd get there. Or If I ever daydream to fly I'd think of a way to create wings that would hold a human up allowing them to fly. If I dream of being a different character I'd also look at the possible steps to how I can achieve being such an ideal character in my mind.
But I do also daydream about the impossible.

Mine are only realistic if I wanted the 'slut' label.

just random crap. Like 'what if's. What if the guy I'm ringing up pulls out a shotgun/sword/laser pistol/reptilian death ray? What if the floor I'm standing on starts to crumble into a rift? What if the trees started writhing about and tried to grab me and pull me into the earth? WHAT IFFFFFF

3 out of 4 my answer concludes with 'I would die'

I am quite myself in daydreams as well (except more fabulous and a little more outspoken). Usually they take the form of conversations (except I get to control both sides). I think it's a way of trying out different ways of talking to someone or ideas while my objective self watches and either laughs or thinks as it watches.

One of many occupations I fantasize about
Often a star was waiting for you to notice it. A wave rolled toward you out of the distant past, or as you walked under an open window, a violin yielded itself to your hearing. All this was mission. But could you accomplish it? (Rilke)
