The concept has a lot of possibilities to be funny to various audiences. Talk about big shoes to fill compared to your wifeís ex.
On the other hand bad mouthing God and religious figures blatantly is rather off-putting, vulgar and boring. It is like many of the racist joke of old...especially at this time of the season. It doesnít get many points for the shock value because blasphemy is so common nowadays. I find this one rather crude/lame but one might get a lot yucks for those really into their Atheism or those who hate Christians. It all depends on the audience.

reminds me of a conversation that I once had with a group of friends- if god had a penis would it be huge, medium or small?
you'd think if he could choose any size he'd be huge, but then he'd probably be an asshole that no one wanted to worship
if he was small he'd probably be a lot nicer, but suffer self esteem issues (especially since you always see him wearing a dress... )
we concluded god must have an average sized penis
This joke actually seems kind of... conventional to me in a way. I don't think it's particularly offensive or funny. The light-hearted profaning of holy figures and jabs about the inadequacy of men's sexual performance have been common comedic conventions for some time. This isn't that much more offensive than you find in many humorous greeting cards. It's just kind of... meh.
