Default A book in the hand is like a...

I'm going to have a bit more time than I'm used to in the next couple of weeks and I wanted to spend it reading a few different books.

Anyone care to share a book they particularly enjoyed? I'd love to know what book(s) you all loved .

    Thanks.

Reading books is like torture to my attention span. But I can recommend from recent reads (never finished any of them):

-Call of Cthulhu and other Weird Stories (H.P. Lovecraft)
    -I Am Legend (Richard Matheson)
-The Zombie Survival Guide (Max Brooks) lewl

I'm not much of a reader at all.

The only books I finished and enjoyed (Although at times could also leave them gathering dust while I was halfway through for about a month) are
    - the lotr books (Tolkien stuff)
    - the Dune books. (Frank Herbert)
    - Chronicles of Conan. (Robert E. Howard)

    What genres do you like?
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

    Eaters of the Dead (Crichton)
Nostromo (Conrad) (If you read this you can draw conclusions about names of spacecraft in Alien. Profoundly important)
    Dune (Herbert)
    Lovecraft

I found McCarthy's The Road to be meh / kinda bland.

    You will read:

    "Blood Meridian" Cormac McCarthy
    "Into Thin Air" Jon Krakauer
    "Snuff" Chuck Palahniuk

And anything by James Joyce, John Muir, and Hunter Thompson
