Usually boxes of chocolates have something in the center.

So the quote is true, you really don't know what you are going to get.

I have bitten into several and said, "Oh shit that sucks."
Then I spit them in the trash. Lol.
Well, absolutely, but chop it in half to make sure what it is before you throw it in your mouth.

What's in the chocs is what matters. You can't see it unless you eat/cut it. You can't foresee how life is going to go either.

Yes, I know what the quote indicates, but I'm saying it is flawed. You can cut the chocolate to make sure you know what's in it but you can't cut life to make sure what you're going to get.

This is too funny. It's a good job you're not a scriptwriter RK

The quote is just implying that life is unpredictable, as is the type of chocolate that you will bite into from one of those assorted boxes. Perhaps some will read the labels on the provided leaflet, so this quote doesn't really apply to those people (ie, you). However, there are lots that won't read the label even if it's there because they like the idea of surprise and they just want to skip the details and get straight to the chocolate (ie, me), and this quote makes perfect sense to them. It's really interesting to think about how this quote is completely nonsensical to those who value predictability though.

Blame the people who wrote the script trying to be profound.

Do you know what you're going to find once you cut into the chocolate? Maybe life is like a box of chocolates to everyone except superman because he can see through the chocolate coating. But that argument would be flawed too, because he doesn't exist.

It's fine. I'm just trying to get things straight. I'm careful when it comes to matters like these (eating a chocolate making sure I know what's in it).

Therefore the quote should be "many people's lives are like a box of chocolate, they never know what they're going to get".
