I hope you realize that we learn through debates. Anything else would simply be one person dictating while the other merely memorizes and regurgitates - think, Soviet Union.

I have a different opinion than you do. Yes, I know I'm right, and I know you're wrong. However, without debate, you'll continue to be wrong. Moreover, if I didn't care about your opinion, or didn't want to hear it, I wouldn't ask.

This is how we learn, my friend. Do not stop yourself from learning.

I believe that joy and contentment cannot be found from a source outside oneself (and from my perspective, God). Joy comes from yourself and gives you perspective through which to view the world. Looking to love, money or other people to make your life good is futile and disappoints. There have been many famous, rich people who were not happy people.

Money is very useful, however, in its proper context. Therefore, people need to make decisions which temporarily may rope them down, but ultimately give them more freedom and options because they have money to work with.

I sometimes wonder if my true motivations for seeking financial security and having a fantastic job, etc. are related to the concept that money will buy me love.

Happiness is temporary. Happiness in money is fleeting.

Can money buy happiness? No it cannot.

Can money buy a temporary distraction? Yup.

That's because people lose their focus. For some people, working towards "the goal" has been a focal point in their lives, always trying to better their life standards or whatever they think is important and what money can buy. And they have seemingly nothing to aspire to when they quit their job. Friends may disappear, "friends" appear.

Unless you have a solid background of family, friends, community, whatever and the focus has always been on accumulating wealth, when it finally "arrives", things may start to crumble. Call it delusion or whatever, sometimes money seems like a substitute for things missing in people's lives.

It's all about balance. Financial stability, personal satisfaction with different relationships etc., they're all connected and make up a whole.
