Default The chicken (T) and the egg (F)

Based on an observation of how members on here behaved and their supposed preference for T or F.

Fs seem to be able to behave more appropriately even if they are not skilled in rational thought
Ts seem to be able to approach a subject rationally even if they behave inappropriately
One behaves rationally because they understand emotions and the other thinks rationally because they understand logic.

To develop intelligence, should one begin by developing emotional understanding or logical understanding?

    Discuss.

Judging from your post, they are both effective enough to be survival tools.

However, I would not associate T with logic or F with emotional understanding, as Fs can use logic, and Ts can delve into a world of emotions.

You should develop your intelligence in which ever fashion you feel most comfortable.

I think they are different means to the same end in this regard.

Sure they have their own specific strengths, but for a concept this broad, they seem to hold equal footing.

develop your weak functions and you gain more understanding to wider range of different situations. Sometimes T might be better and sometimes F might be better, if you lack f in f situation you cant see that it would be the right thing to use in that situation.
